Plant Head - Tiles Manufacturing

Job Summary:
The Plant Head is responsible for end-to-end manufacturing operations of the tiles plant, ensuring production efficiency, quality, cost control, safety, and continuous improvement. The role leads cross-functional teams across production, maintenance, quality, PPC, and utilities to achieve business and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for plant operations including production, maintenance, quality, PPC, stores, utilities, and EHS.
- Achieve production targets in terms of volume, quality, cost, and delivery for ceramic/vitrified tiles.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, minimizing rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives across the plant.

- Optimize OEE, yield, energy consumption, and manpower productivity.
- Oversee kiln operations, pressing, glazing, polishing, sorting & packing processes.
- Lead capex planning, new line installations, technology upgradation, and plant expansion projects.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Develop and mentor department heads, engineers, and shopfloor teams.
- Coordinate with sales, SCM, R&D, and corporate teams for demand planning and new product launches.
- Control plant operational costs, budgets, and inventory levels.
- Lead audits (internal, customer, ISO) and implement corrective actions.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of tiles manufacturing processes (ceramic & vitrified).
- Expertise in production planning, kiln optimization, quality control, and maintenance management.
- Proven leadership in large manufacturing plants.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exposure to SAP / ERP systems preferred.
Qualifications & Experience:
- B.Tech / BE in Mechanical / Ceramic / Electrical / Industrial Engineering.
- 15+ years of experience in the tiles manufacturing industry, with 5+ years in a senior plant leadership role.
- MBA / certifications in Operations, Lean, Six Sigma will be an added advantage.
