Job Description
The Role:
The Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) Finance Director in India is responsible for managing a central organization that delivers transactional finance services in support of multiple regions. This team focuses on processing high-volume, standardized transactions in the most efficient manner to enable the scalability of finance operations globally. This model serves to optimize processes, reduce costs, and ensure consistency and compliance across the organization. This position reports to the Senior Director of Global Shared Services and works closely with the regional shared services teams in alignment with the overall business strategy.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the global shared services responsible for processing high-volume, standardized finance transactions, including order entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and master data creation
- Oversee accounting activities operations within India, including monthly closing process and statutory compliance
- Engage with the RTR, OTC, and PTP finance leaders to ensure alignment of shared services with business strategies and needs
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Work with the RTR, OTC, and PTP Global Process Owners (GPOs) to drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure standardization, implement best practices, and enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Collaborate with IT and other functions to design and implement automation to streamline GSSC activities
- Act as the primary point of contact for leadership regarding India GSSC operations, providing regular updates and insights
- Stay informed about industry trends and innovations in shared services to ensure the GSSC remains competitive and forward-thinking
- Develop cost-effective service level agreements (SLAs) for GSSC activities
- Establish, measure, root cause, and action targeted KPIs to measure GSSC activities
- Mentor and develop a global shared services team, fostering a high-performance culture
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent global leadership abilities with success building a positive team culture and developing talent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English
- Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant financial reporting standards
- Strong attention to detail to produce consistent, high-quality results and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated high ethical standards and commitment to compliance and transparency

Minimum education and work experience required:
- B.S. degree in Accounting/ B Com
- Professional accounting qualification required (e.g., CPA, ACA, CA)
- 15+ years progressive experience working within a multinational, fast-paced environment with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership position
