Position Summary
As a Machine Vision Engineer at Cradlewise, you will be working on the heart of the product. You will analyze RGB, 3D camera streams to deduce human key markers such as parental interventions, baby presence, baby sleep states and health analytics. The challenge is to do all of this and more in a resource constrained embedded system using a combination of classical DSP and NN. You’ll translate scientific concepts—optical flow, signal extraction, real‑time inference—into rock‑solid code running on embedded Linux. If you thrive on solving messy, real‑world vision problems and pushing prototypes to production, this role is for you.
Primary Roles And Responsibilities
Lead data‑collection campaigns: set up annotated video datasets under varied lighting conditions.
Analyze vast amounts of vision data for patterns - 3D and RGB
Build and iterate on computer‑vision pipelines in Python/OpenCV or Python/NN to detect and track baby movement, posture, and breathing.
Cross‑compile and deploy vision modules to ARM‑based SoCs; optimize for CPU/GPU constraints and power budgets.

Desirable Skill Set
5-8 yrs of CV experience.
Using CV, solved multiple real world problems where there was no precedent. Invented novel algorithms that beat state-of-the-art performance.
Python & OpenCV: Expert‑level fluency for image processing, filtering, optical flows, SVD, PCA.
Hands-on with deep‑learning vision frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and model quantization for edge inference.
Great comfort with traditional DSP techniques, linear algebra.
Full-stack experience - Ability to figure out backend/embedded portions without waiting for another engineer to help out.
