Role Overview

We are looking for a business-first legal professional who has experience working in fast-paced startup environments and lead the complete legal function for the organization.

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise across corporate law, commercial contracts, regulatory matters, employment law, compliance, and strategic business advisory.

This role requires mandatory exposure to handling legal and corporate matters for the US market, including international commercial agreements, cross-border structuring, compliance frameworks, corporate governance, and coordination with US legal counsels. Exposure to other international markets would be an added advantage.

The individual should be practical, solution-oriented, highly business-aligned, and capable of operating effectively in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the complete legal function for the organization
• 
  Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts, vendor agreements, partnership agreements, SaaS contracts, NDAs, employment agreements, and international business contracts
• Provide legal support on global expansion, cross-border operations, and international compliance matters
• Handle corporate governance, board-related documentation, and statutory compliance
• Partner with business, finance, HR, product, and operations teams on strategic initiatives and risk assessment
• Manage litigation, disputes, notices, and external counsel relationships
• Drive data privacy, IP protection, and compliance frameworks across the organization
• Ensure compliance with applicable Indian and international laws and regulations
• Build scalable legal processes and policies suitable for a growing startup environment
• Support fundraising, due diligence, investment documentation, and M&A activities, if required

Desired Candidate Profile:

• LLB / LLM from a reputed institution
• 12–18 years of legal experience with significant exposure in startup ecosystems or high-growth companies
• Prior experience as Head of Legal / Senior Legal Counsel / Associate General Counsel preferred

• Mandatory experience in handling US market legal and corporate matters within a startup or high-growth business environment
• Strong understanding of US commercial and corporate legal frameworks, cross-border contracts, and international business operations is essential
• Exposure to additional international markets such as the UK, Middle East, or Southeast Asia would be an added advantage
• Strong expertise in corporate law, commercial contracts, compliance, employment law, and regulatory matters
• Ability to balance legal risk with business agility and commercial practicality
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills
• Mature, hands-on, execution-driven, and entrepreneurial mindset
