Job Title: Software Engineer (Data modelling & Analytics)
Job summary: This position offers you an opportunity to work on industry agnostic applications as a Data modelling & Analytics engineer. You will collaborate within a software development team committed to delivering the performance safety experience for passengers and operating crew in transportation sector comprising of commercial airlines & rail segments through technological applications in AI/ML/DL based data/image/video/text/natural language analytics and inference systems.
The ideal candidate would have adequate experience and competency in understanding Systems requirement definition, Systems Architecture Design, data acquisition techniques, System Development and Integration, required to perform detailed system analysis and trade-off evaluations while pushing boundaries in this wide technology space with the goal of arriving at the most optimal solution.
Cyient’s goal is to develop the next generation optimized technology-based avionics/rail solutions right from the simulation level through to user-facing applications that bring life to Cyient’s vision through smart features providing the most relevant notifications, optimum quality recordings and imaging experiences.
Role and Responsibility:
- Work on custom/open standard algorithms for coding in C/C++/C#/Python including tasks like Project setup, Application Development, Code Development, Designing etc.
- Work on projects involving Machine Learning, Predictive Modelling, Forecasting techniques, Natural Language Processing and Text Mining
- Work on database & Queries like-select, delete, append, update, Make table etc.
- Implement/code application protocols including Error and Exception handling
- Involve in process reengineering, business process optimization, visualizations and dashboards development to track accuracy
- Develop video/image analytics systems implementing real time processing of video/pictures such as face & gesture recognition, object detection, identification, tracking and segmentation.
- Define and evaluate accuracy KPIs for various AI models and video analysis algorithms depending on their use cases and applications of interest
Qualification and Skills:
- BE/B Tech or Master’s degree in ECE/IT/CS/Instrumentation/equivalent
- Minimum 7-10 years of domain experience and/or equivalent Industry experience
- Very good understanding of theories of Probability and Statistics
- Good grasp of Computer Science for application in Machine learning, handling of data sets, big data analytics, and complex data structures
- Experience using Python, Java and other scripting frameworks for efficiently running AI workloads
- Experience setting up processes and pipelines for automation
- Demonstrated rigor in methodically analysing and debugging system issues
- Demonstrated use of sound technical judgment for decision making
- Strong analytical skills and proven success in problem-solving, debugging and achieving performance objectives
- Experience implementing and maintaining software and components within production grade machine learning systems
- Understanding of computer vision concepts, analytics, data science, algorithms and related tools

- Experience working with real time data analytics pipelines
- Experience working with embedded systems
- Background with visualization and building dashboards
- Knowledge of GPU based AI architectures and associated software stack
- Experience on neural networks and training on GPU clusters including transfer learning
- Demonstrated ability to learn emerging concepts & industry agnostic technologies for undertaking work on diverse problems in the ML space
Good to have :
- Experience in developing analytics model based software for transportation industry specific to aerospace and rail domains & their commercial applications.
- Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink/Labview and equivalent modelling and simulation tools.
