Sr. Counsel Legal & Compliance

Whats the role

We are looking for Cyients next Sr. Counsel, who will work in the General Corporate & Compliance function for EMEA. The position will be in our Hyderabad office and will report to the Associate Director – Legal & Compliance. We are a dynamic, friendly, and down to earth bunch of lawyers who love what we do - so we are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter who can work as a team player and communicate exceptionally well. Cyient operates in 23 jurisdictions globally and the legal team provides support across the globe.

Main Responsibilities

• Review and negotiate a variety of customer commercial contracts, including outsourcing service agreements, partnership/alliance agreements, NDAs, reseller agreements and subcontracting engagements.
• Prepare legal contracts, letters of agreement, and other documents related to a variety of trade, commercial, financial, and operational matters (e.g., loans, leases, purchase agreements, acquisitions, divestitures, employment contracts) to protect the organizations legal and business interests.

• Provide legal advice within area of expertise to functional or operational area managers to ensure their activities, policies, business practices, and transactions comply with all relevant laws and regulations including but not limited to GDPR.
• Supervising and mentoring junior counsels in drafting and reviewing proposals, responding to RFPs, etc. Supporting disputes in collaboration with external counsel and the General Counsels office.

• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well independently as well as in a cross-functional team and build rapport and trust with internal clients.
• Diligent at identifying problems along with an ability to present solutions that are creative and pragmatic.
• Flexibility in work hours to accommodate time zones around the region.
• A positive outlook and ability to work well with peers and proficiency to deal with new age legal tech tools.

Who are you

• Inhouse lawyer having 6-10 years PQE.
• Preference shall be given to candidates from IT background.
• Location: Hyderabad. (Working Model: Offline)
