Data Engineer/Scientist

We are looking for a Data Scientist with a product engineering mindset to join our fast-paced, data-driven team. Youll work at the intersection of data science, software engineering, and product development, helping to design and deliver scalable, data-centric solutions that drive business value and enhance user experienceparticularly in the sports domain.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Design, and Business) to identify opportunities where data science can improve products and services.
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and data pipelines in production environments using Python, R, and cloud-native services on AWS and Microsoft Azure.
- Translate complex data into clear product insights and actionable recommendations.
- Contribute to the product lifecycle by embedding data science into product discovery, experimentation, and iterative improvements.
- Maintain a strong focus on the user experience, ensuring data-driven solutions are practical and aligned with product goals.
- Communicate findings effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- 5+ years of experience working with Data in product driven environment
- Proficient in Python and R for data analysis, modeling, and automation.
- Experience with cloud platforms and tools in the AWS tech stack (e.g., S3, Lambda, SageMaker, Redshift, Glue) and Microsoft stack (e.g., SQL Server, Power BI, Azure)
- Strong skills in data wrangling, statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization.

- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including version control (Git), CI/CD, and API development.
- Experience in deploying and monitoring models in production environments.
- Familiarity or prior experience working in or with the sports industry (e.g., fantasy sports, performance analytics, fan engagement, sports betting) is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an agile product development environment.
- Strong problem-solving and storytelling skills; able to bridge data insights with business impact.
- Passion for sports and a curiosity to explore how data is transforming the sports world.
- Bachelors or Master in Computer Science or related field
