What You Do

You own software projects end-to-end - from the customers business problem to the deployed, measured outcome. You hear the customer, understand their business, make architecture decisions, steer the build with AI, and close the loop on whether the outcome was achieved.

You are not a project manager, delivery manager, business analyst, or tech lead. You are all of these compressed into one person, amplified by AI. That compression is the point - context never gets lost because it never leaves your hands.

The Mindset

Think like a founder. The customers problem is your problem. Their business constraints are your constraints.

• Business acumen is not optional. You need to understand how the customers business works - revenue model, cost structure, competitive pressures, regulatory constraints.

• Be opinionated. If the customer asks should we build a dashboard or a report and you say whatever you prefer - youre not doing the job.

• Automate relentlessly. If youre doing something manually more than twice, automate it.

• Dont stop at go-live. Shipping is not the finish line. You need to know: is it working Is the metric moving

• Know what AI can and cant do. Dont trust AI output blindly. Verify critical outputs.

Principles

These are minimum expectations, not aspirations.

1. Own the outcome, not the task. Done when the business metric moves, not when the feature ships.

2. Go deeper than anyone expects. Know the data model. Trace every edge case.

3. Be opinionated - silence is a choice. Have a recommendation. Defend it with reasoning.

4. Remove dependencies, dont manage them. Build it yourself with AI.

5. Hold a higher standard than the client. Write conviction statements before launch. Check them after.

6. Push a daily update. Every day. If nothing meaningful happened, thats a separate problem.

7. Automate everything you do twice. Status, extraction, reports, deployment.

8. Improve the system, not just use it. Fix agent instructions. Share patterns.

Capabilities

Business acumen: Understands how businesses work - revenue models, cost structures, competitive pressures, regulatory constraints. Can follow a CFOs logic.

Technical: Build a web app from scratch with AI. GitHub, terminal, databases. Application architecture. Cloud basics.

UX taste: Opinionated about what the right interface is. Prototypes in real components. Knows when a chatbot is right vs. a dashboard vs. an API.

Communication: Lead conversations with a CTO. Simplify for non-technical stakeholders. Crisp writing. Comfortable with conflict.

Mindset: Entrepreneurial. Treats every project like their own business. Does unglamorous work. Excited by impact. Continuous learner.
