As the Lead Designer for our Design System, you will be the primary steward of our shared visual language and component library. You will be instrumental in defining the strategy, governance, and evolution of our design system, ensuring it serves as a source of truth for all designers and developers. This role requires a leader who is passionate about both high-level strategy and the nitty-gritty details of component architecture.

What Youll Do

• AI Expert: Ideate > Build > Refine > Scale the design system using AI workflows and tools. Know in and outs of Design System AI frameworks with deep technical knowledge
• Lead the Vision: Define and drive the long-term roadmap for the design system, balancing the needs of product teams with the systems overall health and scalability
• Build & Maintain: Oversee the creation, documentation, and maintenance of a robust component library, tokens, and style guides in collaboration with design and engineering teams
• Champion Adoption
  
  : Act as an advocate for the design system, developing and executing a strategy to increase its adoption and impact across the organization
• Collaborate & Govern: Establish clear governance models and contribution guidelines to ensure the system grows sustainably and meets the needs of a diverse set of users
• Educate & Mentor: Provide guidance and mentorship to other designers on how to effectively use the design system and contribute to its improvement
• Communicate & Influence: Serve as a brilliant communicator, confidently articulating the value and strategy of the design system to a wide range of stakeholders, from executives to engineers

What Youll Bring

• Required Skills & Experience
• 6+ years of experience in product or UX design, with a proven track record of successfully building, launching, and scaling design systems
• A strong portfolio showcasing a deep understanding of component architecture, accessibility (WCAG), and documentation
• Expertise in tools that enhance the production and governance of a design system, with deep knowledge of creating token-based and headless design systems
• A strong portfolio that showcases a keen eye for visual design and aesthetics, with a focus on detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to handle a variety of stakeholders and articulate complex ideas with confidence
• A very strong grasp of AI workflows specifically for design systems

Preferred Skills & Attributes

• Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML/CSS, React, Mobile application development to understand the technical constraints and possibilities
• Experience leading a small team or mentoring other designers
• A passion for creating scalable, reusable, and delightful user experiences
• Experience and knowledge of how to leverage AI tools to improve design and system efficiency
• A curious personality with a high tendency to learn and constantly improve ways of working
