Job Description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic professional with expertise in YouTube content management and marketing partnerships to support the growth of Indian music on global platforms. This unique role blends content management with strategic marketing and partnership development to ensure the successful management and promotion of Indian music content across platforms like YouTube while driving growth in the Indian market.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Management:

  1. Oversee Indian music assets within the YouTube CMS, ensuring metadata accuracy, ownership rights, and monetization settings.
  2. Maintain integrity and eligibility of content for YouTubes Content ID system, adhering to copyright policies.
  3. Conduct quality control checks for Indian music content on an ad-hoc basis.
  4. Resolve ownership conflicts and copyright claims in compliance with YouTube policies, collaborating with internal teams and YouTube support when needed.

Content ID Eligibility:

  1. Verify uploads for Content ID eligibility, ensuring compliance with YouTubes copyright and monetization policies.
  2. Work with the team to implement processes ensuring authorized, eligible content delivery.

Marketing and Partnerships:

  1. Identify and develop strategic partnerships with influencers, businesses, academic institutions, and other stakeholders in the Indian music industry.
  2. Create and execute marketing strategies and campaigns tailored to the Indian market, including digital advertising, social media, and content creation.
  3. Collaborate with global teams to localize marketing efforts and ensure alignment with company goals.
  4. Analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to inform marketing strategies and optimize outcomes.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  1. Liaise with music labels, rights holders, and stakeholders to verify rights and address disputes.
  2. Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding rights management and marketing activities.

Process Improvement:

  1. Develop strategies to streamline content management processes.
  2. Identify opportunities for innovation in marketing, content delivery, and operational efficiency.

Policy Adherence:

  1. Stay updated on YouTubes policies and industry standards related to copyright, Content ID, and monetization.
  2. Educate stakeholders on policies and ensure adherence across all activities.

Performance Monitoring:

  1. Measure and report the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and content delivery using analytics tools.
  2. Provide actionable insights to improve campaign and content management outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with YouTube CMS, rights management, and Content ID eligibility criteria.
  • Strong background in the Indian music industry, including trends, regional nuances, and key players.
  • Experience in marketing, partnerships, or business development roles.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (proficiency in Hindi or regional languages is a plus).
  • Familiarity with analytics tools to track and report performance metrics.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Passion for music and independent artists.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • YouTube Certifications: Content Ownership, Asset Monetization, Music Rights Management.
  • Previous experience working with Indian music labels or distributors.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and other content/rights management platforms.
  • Knowledge of international copyright laws related to music publishing and recording rights.
