Job Description
Job Purpose/Objective
Efficient communication and dispatch of terminal planned activities on system and monitoring progress to ensure smooth operations within preset processes and regulations
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate operational activities within the shift effectively with multiple stakeholders and bring in coordination and cohesiveness to operations
- Maintains log of shipping movements, noting dates, times and other relevant details as required and respond to ship calls to Port Control advising vessels of weather conditions, shipping movements. Relay requests for on-duty personnel, engineers, electronic servicemen etc as required
- During emergency incidents, act as initial Emergency Controller and call out essential personnel and Emergency Services. Thereafter maintaining an incident log.
- Monitor CCTL CCTV cameras and act accordingly to any security breaches noted.
- Monitor yard queues and able to provide faster service to outside trucks.
- Constantly monitor live operations and ensure that the planned operation is effectively executed.
- Coordinate with engineering department regarding the maintenance schedule & ensure both maintenance & operations are not compromised.
- Record & report equipment break downs & actively follow up the progress.
- Maintain radio communication with each piece of assigned equipment at all times.
- Understanding the day-to-day activities of safe and cost effective Terminal Operations.
- Update the shift log and equipment availability statement in time.
- Ensure proper induction of all contract employees
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in Terminal Operations
- Computer literacy/keyboard skills in planning systems (i.e. Navis, Express database and ship editor systems).
- Good Communication Skills in Local Language and English
- Communicating on VHF/Phone
- Working knowledge of Terminal control procedures.
- Knowledge of relevant Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures

Educational Qualification (min) : Bachelors degree / Diploma with Computer skills
Range/ Min no of years - of overall Experience required : 2 years of relevant experience in Terminal Operations
Min no of years of Industry specific experience required, if any & the industry type : 2 -6 years of relevant experience in Terminal Operations
