Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive media relations strategies and PR campaigns to increase brand visibility.
  • Media Outreach: Act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries. cultivate and maintain relationships with key journalists, editors, and bloggers across print, digital, and broadcast media.
  • Content Creation: Write and edit high-quality press releases, media kits, speeches, byline articles, and internal newsletters.
  • Brand Reputation: Monitor media coverage and industry trends. Manage crisis communications and mitigate negative publicity effectively.
  • Events & Interviews: Coordinate press conferences, media interviews, and public appearances for senior leadership.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and social media teams to ensure a unified brand message across all channels.

  • The Storyteller: You possess a natural ability to craft compelling narratives. You don't just write press releases; you find the "hook" that makes a journalist want to read more.
  • Media Network: You have an existing network of relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers in the sector. You know who to call to get a story placed.

  • Agency vs. In-House: Candidates with prior experience in a PR Agency are highly preferred due to their ability to handle high pressure and multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Crisis Ready: You have a cool head. You are capable of handling sensitive information with confidentiality and can navigate a PR crisis without panic.
  • Digital Savvy: You understand how traditional media (newspapers/TV) integrates with new media (blogs/social/podcasts). You are comfortable using PR tools like Cision, Meltwater, or similar media monitoring software.
  • Communication: Impeccable command over the English language (both written and verbal) is non-negotiable. Proficiency in [Regional Language, if applicable] is a plus.
  • Personality: You are proactive, high-energy, and thick-skinned (not discouraged by rejection when pitching stories).
