HEAD OF ENGINEERING - SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

About the role:
Our client in the digital healthcare space is looking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead their engineering team in Dubai. The Head of Engineering will be responsible for driving technical excellence, innovation, and the successful delivery of their platform. This is a key leadership role reporting directly into the CEO with progression plans to become CTO.
You will play an integral role in establishing the platform as well as building out a technology function in the ever-growing healthcare tech sector. You will shape the future of the company working on cutting edge greenfield projects.
Job Responsibilities

• Manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support for their professional growth.
• Set the technical direction and architecture for the platform, making informed decisions on technology stacks, infrastructure, and development methodologies.
• Work with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize engineering projects and roadmaps.
  
• Oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring efficient project management, code quality, and timely delivery of features and enhancements.
• Establish and engineering best practices and standards, including code reviews, testing frameworks, and documentation.
• Manage relationships with external partners, vendors, and contractors, ensuring effective collaboration and successful delivery of outsourced projects.
• Manage and prioritize technical debt and scalability challenges, ensuring the long-term sustainability and scalability of their platform.
• Be involved in recruitment of new team members as well as designing OKR/KPIS for the team.

Get Hired
• Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of software development experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
• Proven experience in a leadership role.
• Deep understanding of software engineering principles, architecture, and design patterns
• Experience with modern software development technologies and frameworks, including cloud-based architectures, microservices architecture and DevOps.
  

Experience in the healthcare or digital health industry is a plus.
