About the role

The Data Storage Engineer focuses on the continuous operation of our customers' Storage Area Network and Data Storage environment. His/her main responsibility is to ensure data accessibility, consistency and recoverability. The Data Storage Engineer works in an environment where fast educated decisions may save the day, however quality and perfection are our major objective.
Daily challenges
Work on break/fix Data Storage and Storage Area Network incidents and customer service calls; Troubleshoot complex issues and provide solutions; Data Storage and Storage Area Network performance monitoring and consulting; Design, innovate, deploy and follow solutions/procedures to improve working process; Implementing changes in the Storage Area Network environment; Every-day learn to stay on top of the Data Storage and Storage Area Network technology (access to the DXC University training systems available).
eXperience & skills required
Experience/knowledge in any of the following IT areas (Storage, Backup, Database, server HW/SW support, Windows, Linux, VMware, or another technology that is relevant to enterprise systems operations) High motivation for personal growth and collaboration within the company and its different teams. Our SAN/Storage community is split into several expertise levels and future candidates will be targeted at a specific one, according to their level of experience Practical experience in one or more of the following: Cisco, Brocade switches; Practical experience in one or more of HPE, DELL/EMC, IBM, NetApp, Pure, HDS or equivalent enterprise class data storage arrays; Practical experience in managing large Storage Area Network Fabrics and NAS / CIFS / NFS; Understanding of project management methodologies and processes; General workflow tool experience (incident, change, problem, reporting); Good skills in planning and concepts for Data Storage environments; Knowledge of ITSM, ITIL or equivalent Service Management qualifications; Relevant certification or similar qualifications for the technologies & processes mentioned above; Any qualifications exceeding the requirements will be considered as advantage.
