Job Description
- As an Underwriter C11 at our organization, you will be an integral part of the team, applying your in-depth disciplinary knowledge to contribute to the development of new techniques and the enhancement of processes and workflows within your area of expertise. Your role will involve integrating subject matter and industry expertise to support the objectives of the function and overall business effectively.
Your responsibilities will include interfacing with and supporting bankers in underwriting requests for commercial credit extensions for new and existing clients. You will be responsible for making sound credit decisions while ensuring compliance with internal procedures, credit risk policy guidelines, and standards. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you prepare detailed written credit summaries of commercial applicants, perform financial analysis on companies, and conduct industry and geographical research.
To excel in this role, you must maintain a solid understanding of Citibank products and services within Small Business/Commercial Banking and the broader organization. Upholding compliance with Citibank credit policies/practices and regulatory policies is crucial to ensure satisfactory ratings from internal and external auditors. Additionally, you will need to appropriately assess risk in all business decisions, safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
To qualify for this role, you should have 2-5 years of relevant experience and a degree in Quantitative Fields such as Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, Business Finance, or Mathematics. Previous experience in credit risk management or equivalent training and experience, preferably in the financial services industry, will be beneficial. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills are essential for success in this position.
