Job Description
- As a Backend Developer Intern at our company, you will be responsible for contributing to the development and maintenance of a scalable, microservices-based backend for our mobility platform. Your primary focus will be on API development, database operations, message-based communication with RabbitMQ, and service orchestration using Docker. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work with WebSockets for real-time updates and Webhooks for event-driven integrations.
Your responsibilities will include developing backend services using Node.js and TypeScript, designing and implementing REST APIs for various functionalities such as authentication, orders, and location tracking, working with PostgreSQL and Prisma ORM for database operations, integrating RabbitMQ for inter-service communication, implementing input validation using Joi, building and maintaining Dockerized microservices, utilizing WebSockets for real-time communication, implementing Webhooks for event-based notifications and integrations, collaborating closely with the frontend Flutter team for API integration, working with cross-functional teams for system integration, and writing clean, tested, and maintainable code.
To be successful in this role, you should have knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js, familiarity with PostgreSQL and Prisma ORM, an understanding of RabbitMQ and message queue systems, a strong grasp of REST API design, familiarity with Docker and microservices, knowledge of database schema design and optimization, experience with WebSockets and Webhooks. Additionally, experience with Redis for caching and session management, knowledge of JWT/OAuth authentication, and exposure to CI/CD pipelines would be considered a plus.

This internship opportunity is fully remote with a duration of 3 months, requiring 24 hours per day with flexi-time. While the stipend for this position is currently unpaid, high performers may have the opportunity to convert to a full-time role (both in India and abroad) after a funding round.
