Qualifications - • BE / B. Tech. or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience of 7 - 15 years.

• Experience of working in EPC / consultancy organization.

Job summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Municipal water and wastewater projects design team. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to the mechanical design of Municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and distribution / collection networks. This role involves the full project lifecycle, from conceptual design and feasibility studies to detailed engineering, procurement support, and construction assistance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the Municipal water/wastewater sector and possess strong leadership and technical skills.

Key accountabilities:

Technical Design and Engineering:

• Experience to basic and detailed engineering of Mechanical works.
• Experience of optioneering, outline design, detailed design, and construction support.
• Lead the design, engineering team.
• Lead the development of mechanical designs for Water and Wastewater treatment plants, including advanced systems like SBR & BNR process, Sludge Handling Storage Treatment. Experience in desalination, membrane filtration (MBR) will be considered as added advantage.
• Preparation of mechanical plans and specifications for municipal water and wastewater projects, including treatment facilities, pumping stations, and distribution/collection systems.
• Perform advanced mechanical equipment sizing and selection for pumps, screens, gates, mixers, valves, chemical preparation & dosing systems, odor control systems, sludge handling storage - dewatering system, biogas storage-handling-treatment, H2S Scrubbers, Digestor System, CHP engine, UV, Chlorination System, Heat Exchangers, HVAC System, and other process equipment.
• Prepare of Piping/Equipment support design.
• Knowledge of HAZOP study, ALM schedule, and Hazardous area classification.
• Prepare mechanical plant general arrangement drawings, bills of quantities, piping layouts, overall plant layouts, and isometric drawings across project phases.
• Develop and review process flow diagrams (PFDs) and detailed piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Prepare technical specifications, equipment datasheets, valve schedules, and other design deliverables like RFQ.
• Preparation of Equipment / System layouts, technical evaluation of Vendor offers etc.
• Review CFD analysis of pumping stations.
• Checking vendors equipment drawing & Technical specification as per tender requirement /client requirement.
• Preparation of control philosophy for all plant equipment.
• Utilize and oversee the use of 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D, Navisworks Manage) for the development of plant general arrangement and piping layout drawings.

  Ensure all designs comply with relevant Indian/global standards, , and national-state-municipal regulations.
• Knowledge of selection of material (MOC) of various components of equipment.
• Prepare pump head- system head curves calculations.
• Preparation of BOQ with specification.
• Preparation of Hydraulic Calculation, Pump Head Calculation, and Pipe Size Calculation.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, datasheets, and schedules for mechanical equipment and instrumentation.
• Should have Technical Report writing skills.
• Should have excellent knowledge of using MS Excel, MS Word, PPT, Auto CAD.
• Knowledge of 2D and 3D drafting software such as AutoCAD, REVIT and Open Plant Modeler preferred.
  

Project and team leadership:

• Collaborate with project managers to develop project scopes, deliverables, schedules, and budgets, and ensure projects are executed on time and within budget.
• Act as a primary point of contact for municipal clients effectively communicating project updates and design concepts.
• Conduct value engineering and whole-life cost analyses to recommend the most cost-effective and sustainable solutions for municipal assets.
• Meeting with Client and other stakeholders to get approval of the design, drawings and all other technical documents required to complete the project smoothly.
• Able to adopt cost effective / cost saving design.
• Capable of handling a team of 6 to 8 engineers/draftsman.
• Guiding and mentoring engineering /CAD team for quality delivery.
