Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Merchant Banking Analyst to join our team. The Analyst will be responsible for providing analytical support and assisting in the execution of various transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital raising, and advisory services. This role requires strong financial modeling skills, a deep understanding of market dynamics, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis & Modeling:
- Develop and maintain financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF), precedent transactions, and comparable company analysis to support M&A, debt, and equity transactions.
- Due Diligence Support:
- Assist in conducting due diligence for potential deals, analyzing financial statements, and assessing the financial health of target companies.
- Market Research:
- Perform research on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor landscapes to assist in transaction structuring and decision-making.
- Deal Execution:
- Support senior bankers in the execution of transactions, including the preparation of presentation materials, pitch books, and client communication.
- Client Interaction:
- Assist in preparing client presentations and materials for meetings, calls, and pitches. Interact with clients, legal advisors, and other stakeholders as necessary during the transaction process.
- Risk Analysis & Reporting:
- Monitor risk factors associated with potential transactions and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Transaction Documentation:
- Assist in the preparation and review of transaction documents, such as term sheets, confidentiality agreements, and financial statements.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor&aposs degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field. A CFA or MBA is a plus.
- Experience:
- 0-2 years of experience in investment banking, merchant banking, or financial services. Internship experience in a related field will be considered.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience with financial modeling and valuation techniques is essential.
- Analytical Skills:
- Strong quantitative skills with the ability to analyze financial statements and data to derive meaningful insights.
- Attention to Detail:

- Communication Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Team Player:
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Problem-Solving Skills:
- Ability to approach complex situations with a strategic mindset and propose innovative solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of financial markets, capital raising, M&A, and corporate finance.
- Familiarity with financial software and tools like Bloomberg, FactSet, and Reuters.
- Understanding of legal and regulatory aspects of transactions.
