DevOps Engineer (Google Cloud Platform)

Our client, a successful industry leader in financial services and banking, has an excellent opportunity for a DevOps Engineer to work on a contract opportunity. The DevOps Engineer will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and architecting solutions using Google Cloud Platform services, with a particular focus on GenAI applications. You will be responsible for building and maintaining Terraform modules and have a deep understanding of Vertex AI and its integration with GenAI models.
Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $70 - $85 / hr. w2
Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop and maintain Terraform modules to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement cloud architecture best practices.
• Utilize Vertex AI to build, deploy, and manage machine learning models and workflows, with a focus on Generative AI applications.
• Integrate GenAI models into existing systems and workflows to enhance business processes and capabilities.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues in a timely manner.
• 
  Stay up-to-date with the latest Google Cloud Platform services, GenAI advancements, and features, and evaluate their potential impact on our infrastructure.
• Document processes, configurations, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.

Experience Requirements:

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role with a focus on Google Cloud Platform.
• Expertise in Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) and experience building reusable modules.
• In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services, including but not limited to Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, and Kubernetes Engine.
• Strong understanding of Vertex AI and its application in machine learning and GenAI workflows.
• Extensive experience with Generative AI models and their deployment in production environments.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar.

Education Requirements:

• B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering or equivalent work experience

• Google Cloud Platform Professional Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer certification.
• Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision applications in GenAI.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
