The Senior Software Engineer - Python is a fully participating member of an agile feature team working independently on software development and problem resolution. The role involves technical design, software development, implementation and maintenance software solutions/products that support the Emirates Group Business.
In this role, you will:

• Work with senior technical engineers in the technical design process by contributing in the analysis of technical application requirements.
• Convert technical solutions for small to medium sized initiatives into low level design and working code.
• Independently write secure and optimized code through implementation of Emirates Group approved coding standards.

• Be part of the rotational on-call support and actively participate in resolving production issues within SLA?s with minimal or no active supervision.
• Be accountable for built in quality and ensuring 100% unit testing as part of the CI/CD pipeline
• Analyse and fix all identified defects with minimal rework
• Ensure re-factoring practices are adequately adopted to ensure minimum code debt.
• Ensure logging and monitoring hooks are implemented as part of the code development.
• Continuously stay up to date in the relevant technologies and implement the learnings to enhance the code quality.
• Adhere to the Emirates Group IT coding standards, guidelines and best practices and contribute to Software Engineering Playbooks and other Standards documents.
  

Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.

• Minimum 4 years of experience in Backend Application Development, primarily in Python (versions 3.7+) with microservices capability.
• Frameworks/Libraries/Language: PyTest, SonarQube, PEP8, Solace, Gunicorn, NGINX, SciKit-Learn, TensorFlow, Anaconda, Conda Environments, JWT Tokent, Pandas, Numpy, AppDynamics, matplotlib, Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio 2022,GraphQL, restQL, Django, REST Framework, Apache Beam, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Apache Airflow, Ray, MLOps, ELK/Splunk, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Test Frameworks, ShiftLeft, SonarQube, Tibco, Solace, Kafka.
• Database: Couchbase, MariaDB, Oracle, RDS, DynamoDB, Neo4J, Postgres, Redis, Ignite, Hyperledger.
• Experience in developing and maintaining advanced technology solutions for medium to complex organisation problems in a multi-functional environment.
• Expertise in backend databases like Oracle SQL or similar RDBMS DB, Spring JPA/Hibernate, Restful API Services, Maven/Gradle for build, and familiar with Code Quality measurement tools such as SonarQube.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD and DevOps principles, with the ability to write code suitable for continuous integration and testing.
• Team player with a problem-solving attitude using variety of software.
• Strong agile development and systems analytical skills.
• Experience in providing production support for business solutions.
