Job Description
Job Purpose:
The role is to be responsible to lead the organisations sustainability and ESG initiatives. The role involves end-to-end ownership of ESG strategy, data management, GHG accounting, and reporting aligned with global and Indian frameworks such as GRI and BRSR. The candidate will drive ESG performance, ensure compliance, and support business integration of sustainability practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the companys ESG strategy aligned with international sustainability standards.
- Integrate ESG policies into renewable energy project lifecycle (development, construction, and operations).
- Support ESG alignment with investor expectations and sustainability commitments.
- Monitor environmental performance across solar and wind projects, including:
Biodiversity protection
Waste management
Water usage
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, EIA approvals, and statutory clearances.
- Track carbon emissions reduction and climate impact metrics.
- Lead community engagement initiatives around project locations.
- Implement CSR and livelihood development programs for local communities.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and labor standards during project construction and operations.
- Develop governance policies aligned with corporate ethics and compliance frameworks.
- Monitor ESG risk factors related to renewable energy assets.
- Coordinate with legal, compliance, and operations teams for ESG implementation.
- Prepare ESG and sustainability disclosures aligned with:
- Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and BRSR
- Support ESG due diligence for green financing and sustainability-linked loans.
- Manage ESG compliance requirements from international lenders and investors.
- Coordinate ESG audits for development finance institutions such as:
- International Finance Corporation (IFC)
- Asian Development Bank (ADB)
- Prepare documentation for sustainability-linked funding.
- Collect ESG-related data from multiple departments and project sites.
- Validate, organize, and maintain ESG databases.
- Ensure data quality and audit readiness.
- Support GHG emissions calculation (Scope 1, Scope 2, Scope 3).

- Track environmental indicators like energy, water, and waste.
- Assist in carbon footprint assessments.
- Analyze ESG data and trends.
- Support dashboard development (Power BI / Excel).
- Maintain ESG documentation.
- Support audits and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors / Masters in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8–10 years of ESG/sustainability experience.
- Strong knowledge of GHG Protocol, GRI, and BRSR.
- Advanced Excel and Power BI skills preferred.
- Leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
