You’ll be part of the Global Financial Services team and primarily focused on managing and optimising reporting and data processes across the organization. You will identify a vision, and prioritize objectives that support our Haleon finance function on our journey to World Class.

Trading Partner Finance (TPF) is a high professional, high performing Global team, enabling the Haleon supply chain to get products to customers on-time and improve everyday heath for billions of people, through strong partnership across the business.

This is a high-profile role with a global remit that requires the ability to effectively manage and influence teams and stakeholders across different countries and levels.

Our activities support ca. 95% of Haleon’s trade as it routes through a series of specifically designed trading entities which principally cover the procurement, supply, import and export of product for intercompany and 3rd party cross border transactions.

On a daily basis we are required to react rapidly to emerging issues that require swift resolution to keep the supply chain moving, whilst ensuring compliance with global trade, financial, legal & fiscal requirements.

As a team, we strive to stay in front and improve our stakeholder experience by being proactive, agile & curious, setting ourselves stretching targets, actively partnering, and continuously improving while keeping the fundamentals right.

The TPF Close and Control team is responsible for:

  • delivering the financial reporting, compliance and control services across 3 entities. Covering a wide scope of supply chain activity, mainly focused on intercompany transactions with some direct 3rd party sales, these entities have a combined turnover of ca. £5bn pa and inventory of >£0.2bn.
  • We engage with a wide range of finance and non-finance stakeholders across multiple geographies & functions to deliver right first-time group & statutory financial reporting and support the business in excellent decision making

TPF is building a new team at the Haleon GCC, Bengaluru. This team will receive activities migrating from Poland. You will initially play a key part in ensuring the success of this project.

Your post-transition responsibilities will include – but non-exhaustively
  • Building and leading a team of 18+ members, plus oversight of BPO partner
  • Accountable for the reporting of financial results for your entity with commentary including P&L, balance sheet and Trial Balance which is accurate, complete and:
    • Fully compliant with all relevant accounting standards, current best practices and any other regulations
    • Consistently applies accounting policies which are appropriate to the current business environment
    • Compliant with all aspects of the internal / external financial control environment
    • Delivers insight to the business in key areas of risk, growth and performance making recommendations for continuous improvements and remedial action as required
  • You will own your entity’s Trial Balance
  • Provide oversight & direction for all aspects of the financial month end review process, including co-ordination of activities across internal stakeholders, BPO partner and any other third parties.
  • Accountable for delivery of trading partner invoicing and data activities for your entities, via the Data & Invoicing Team.
  • Providing strategic direction and objectives for your team
  • Being accountable to drive forward objectives, plans & projects
  • Overseeing & driving performance of outsourced BPO team (Genpact)
  • Being an ambassador for Global Finance Services (GFS) and TPF
  • Managing senior stakeholders, dealing with escalations and gathering feedback
  • Continuously identifying & driving improvements in end-to-end processes, ensuring sustainability & suitability for an FMCG company
  • Establishing a strong compliance mindset within your team, including adherence to Sox controls, GxP etc
  • Ensuring audit queries are answered by the team in a timely manner
  • Ownership of team budget and resource planning
  • Supporting the TPF Tower Lead with ad-hoc requests, activities & projects

Requirements/Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • MBA or Accounting qualification (CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent)

Basic Requirements

    At least 12 years of financial management experience
  • Strong team management experience; 15+ staff
  • Finance Controller experience
  • Financial acumen and understanding
  • Significant experience working with global / corporate level financial reporting in a large global organization
  • Experience of managing enterprise level financial processes and / or systems
  • Understanding of risk management, controls & compliance, including Sarbanes Oxley
  • Demonstrated process improvement and project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels across the organization
  • Experience working with client groups with ability to influence and challenge stakeholders at various levels
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and across a matrix environment
  • Strong team building skills
  • Ability to establish a high level of credibility and forge strong working relationships with senior internal and third-party stakeholders
  • Time management and attention to detail

Preferred Requirements

  • Supply Chain and / or FMCG industry experience
  • Experience of working with and delivering results with outsourced BPO providers
  • Experience with SAP
  • Enjoy permanent changes and demonstrate great agility and resilience
  • Calm under pressure and able to manage competing demands.
  • Able to see the big picture and think beyond immediate area of responsibility.
