About The Role
The Product Expert is accountable for business & technical analysis for products within SAP Supply Chain. As part of the persistent product development team, reporting to the Product Director, they are accountable for technical deliverables and ensuring sound architectural setup of products. The Product Expert will provide technical guidance and advice to Product Owners as part of solutions-fit and options assessment (Viability, Desirability, Feasibility) with a focus on feasibility- for example can the user-story/problem statement be technically achieved. They will need technical expertise in SAP and Supply Chain. They will also be accountable for technical artefacts such as systems requirements, solutions design and security & privacy reviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Configuration/Customization: Work with third party solutions providers, developers and GSK Core Technology/Platforms to conduct technical configuration/customization of solutions that meet our customers needs and provides a great user experience.
- Governance & Product Assessment: Take part in technical governance and oversight of product development across a product domain. Support Solutions Architect in the assessment of technology solutions.
- Product Domain: Understand the product domain from a technology perspective but also understand how the technology adds value.
- Quality, Risk & Compliance: Accountable for ensuring all products supporting the business are compliant with internal security, risk management policies and practices, external regulatory and statutory requirements e.g. GxP, SARBOX and that Tech continuity plans are in place for all business-critical products.
- Change & Release management: Manage change activity, including Software as a Service delivered change, into the production service in a compliant and efficient manner.
- Integrations: Ensure data passing from upstream systems or providers or to downstream systems through integrations is efficient, accurate and secure. This also includes building reporting capabilities that support both operational reporting as well as analytic reporting.
- Process Improvement: Drive ongoing product and technical improvements adopting a mixture of delivery methodologies where appropriate – but focusing on Value to the customers.
- Technical Product Deliverables: Ensuring completion of technical deliverables as outlined by Product Owner/GRC and ensuring technical aspects of definition of done are achieved.
Qualifications and skills
- Solid SAP configuration experience in at least 2 modules: SAP APO (DP, SNP, GATP) Materials Management & Direct Procurement (MM-PUR), SAP IBP and Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration.
- Good understanding of the Material Master. Stock Procurement, Demand and Supply Planning processes.
- Proven ability to engage with business process owners to understand the business needs and priorities, lead requirement gathering and analysis, and design solutions leveraging appropriate tools and platforms
- Experience in implementing large and complex SAP Projects, solution build, configuration and delivery to meet business requirements.
- Expert hands on experience in developing SAP solutions using configuration in SCM-APO modules
- Demonstrated breadth of knowledge and solution delivery experience across the end-to-end manufacturing and supply chain process and its integration points with other processes (SD (Sales and Distribution), QM (Quality Management), MM (Materials Management), LE (logistics Execution), Finance, etc.), acquired through multiple hands-on roles in global SAP implementations.
- Experience with integrations with local manufacturing applications
- Demonstrated ability to understand Supply Chain planning and execution processes and their role to support business operations
- Strong interpersonal skills. Capable of working effectively in large, complex cross functional teams, capable of building relationships across different stakeholders and functional groups
- Experience on SAP Supply Chain (SCM-APO) Modules, Materials Management.
- Experience in working with Agile, Scrum, Kanban and waterfall delivery models
- Experience in a Pharmaceutical or FMCG commercial and manufacturing environment
- Experience in a regulated environment is a plus
- Experience with global planning integrations, cloud integrations, etc.
- Basic ABAP debugging experience desirable.
- Experience with SAP Solution Manager to support template documentation.
- Certification in SAP Supply Chain modules, S/4 HANA is a plus
