Role Overview
The Senior Specialist - Compliance will be responsible for all the relevant compliances including direct & indirect taxes, SEZ/Non-STPI, secretarial and payroll and its related as applicable.

EQ India is the offshore arm of the EQ Group. EQ India team provides Information Technology Services, Business Processing Operations, Marketing, Sales Support and Creative Services, People Services, Finance Shared Services to various EQ Group companies and Clients of EQ. EQ India employs highly competent professionals delivering complex and heavy transactions. EQ India services include application support/ development, software quality assurance, IT Infrastructure support services, PMO, finance shared service , marketing and sales support and BPO process such as employee benefit solutions, shareholder services, investment services, pension solutions, central reconciliation, customer experience centre (voice process), HR and payroll.
Core Duties/Responsibilities
The following are the complete responsibilities of the person who is taking care of the compliance role.
Direct & Indirect Taxes:
- TDS Computation, return filing and issue Form 16, handle TDS notices if any
- Ensure monthly compliance under SEZ regulations, GST, FEMA and Indirect Taxes
- Input Credit on GST reconciliation and coordination with supplier in case of mismatch
- Advance Tax, Self-Assessment computation and payment.
- Preparation of Audit requirements for Statutory audits & ensure statutory audits are completed on time with nil reservations
- Ensure cash generation by way of rebates and refunds under GST & SEIS Export claim
- Ensure compliances under Payroll including PF, ESI, PT, Labour Compliances
- Review of Overall TDS computation for Staffs and update payroll team on changes in regulations from time to time on changes in regulations/new enactments
Secretarial Compliance:
- Ensure various compliances under Secretarial including holding of Board Meeting and ensure best Secretarial practices.
- Support Annual Secretarial audit
- Maintenance of Registers under Companies Act
- Yearly declarations from Directors and returns
Auditing supports:
- Preparation of Audit requirements for Statutory audits & ensure statutory audits are completed on time with nil reservations
- Review and overlook the Internal AP audit, Payroll Internal Audit
- Fixed Asset audit
- Review Internal Controls on Financial reporting are complied and as per procedures set in place
- Ensure Tax Audit, Transfer pricing audit, GST Annual audit are complied on time
Others:
- Publishing compliance Dashboards on monthly basis
- Compliance under MSME & review of Ageing on supplier payments
- Coordinating with consultants for RCMC/STPI certificates renewal. (Annual)
- LUIT renewal (Annual) for Chennai and Bangalore.
- Maintain Legality Tool for all compliances are updated and filed on time and updated in the legality Tool (Goal compliance – Cloud utility)
- MPR/APR & Softex inputs sharing with tax consultants for periodical filings.
- Inputs sharing with tax consultants for SEZ Endorsement and sharing DTA certificates to suppliers.
- Annual compliance under SEZ, STPI – including filing of Annual Performance report
- Annual labour compliances are met on time
- Compliance with Group reporting requirement from time to time
- Compliance with IFRS reporting to Group
- Review of Suppliers agreements & ensure timely renewal
- Coordination and provide opinion on various Legal compliances and standpoints of company
- Assessments under various regulations are promptly responded & completed on time

- B.Com/M.Com (Preferable CA or CMA Intermediate)
- Overall work experience of 8+ years which includes at least 5+ years of work experience in Taxation and Compliance.
