Role Overview:
The Specialist Credit Controller plays a key part in the Order to Cash end to end process and is business critical. This role directly affects the cash flow for the Group
The position is a highly visible role at Equiniti providing the right candidate with plenty of exposure to senior stakeholders. The candidate would work on their own initiative, make decisions, meet specified and demanding deadlines, foster good working relationships, and help us to make a difference by ensuring that quality reconciliations and controls have a presence throughout the business.
The Specialist would be responsible for establishing, and maintaining, effective governance of credit control processes and procedures. A keen attention to detail and an ability to keep the bigger picture in mind would be key characteristics of the right candidate. The candidate would also be capable of improving accuracy, as well as efficiency, in the wider finance organisation within Equiniti.
Core Duties/Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- To maintain a professional Credit Control service from the SSC. The service must lead and facilitate continuous process improvement and ensure tight invoice control, supporting Lean initiatives and maintaining integrity of the systems.
- Work with clients and the business to ensure clients pay on time
- Monitor ageing and risks associated with client invoicing
- Provide backup to the other Credit Controllers to provide both a divisional based credit control services, as well as backup for other divisions during peak periods.
- Gain knowledge of US products and divisions to ensure correct collection actions are undertaken.
- Feedback client issues on invoices to the OTC invoicing team to improve invoice quality and performance.
- Monitor and act upon change requests from the business to constantly improve the debtor day performance.
- Participation in system and process improvements in the Credit Control area to create a group wide Credit Control team.
- Ensure compliance to and maintenance of internal controls in accordance with the Equiniti Controllership Guide
- Establish relationships with Divisional contacts and the OTC team to ensure timely collection and allocation of customer payments.
- Track and solve issues raised by the Business
- Ensure that all working practices follow Equiniti standard policies and procedures, including health & safety and equal opportunities.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience skills and behaviours:
Experience
- Good accounting knowledge across Accounts Receivable.
- Minimum of 8 years working experience in Order to Cash activities and at least 3 years in Credit Control functions.
- Knowledge of Workday ERP an added advantage.
- Knowledge of other financial accounting systems.
