Regional Legal Manager

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Regional Legal Manager role based in Chennai. The Regional Legal Manager will oversee legal affairs for the assigned region, including reviewing, drafting, and finalizing contracts, legal notices, and other legal documents related to banking operations. The role involves advising business and operational teams on legal risks, regulatory requirements, and compliance with applicable banking and financial laws. The Regional Legal Manager will coordinate with external counsel as needed, manage litigation and dispute resolution, and support the bank in responding to regulatory or statutory queries. The role also includes developing and implementing legal policies, providing training on legal and compliance matters, and contributing to risk mitigation and governance initiatives within the region.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law, with knowledge of banking, finance, and commercial laws relevant to small finance banks.
• Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and legal notices.
• Experience in Legal Consulting, providing clear, practical legal advice to business and operational stakeholders.
• Hands-on expertise in Legal Compliance, including interpreting regulations, monitoring changes in law, and implementing compliance frameworks.
• Proven ability to manage Legal Affairs such as litigation, dispute resolution, and coordination with external counsel and regulatory authorities.

• Bachelors degree in Law (LLB) required; a masters degree or specialization in banking/financial law is an advantage.
• Prior experience in a bank, NBFC, or financial services legal function is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
