D365 BC Finance Functional Lead

: Senior Consultant Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (Finance)

Position: Senior Finance Consultant D365 Business Central

Location: Bangalore, India

Experience: 710 years (NAV & D365 Business Central Finance modules)

Reports To: Practice Head D365 Business Central / Delivery Manager

Role Purpose

The Senior Finance Consultant will be responsible for end-to-end implementation and support of the Finance stream in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This role requires deep functional expertise in financial modules, strong client-facing skills, and the ability to guide project teams through requirement gathering, configuration, testing, training, and go-live. The consultant will also contribute to presales, solution design, and post-implementation support.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Module Expertise

1. Lead functional workshops to gather and document business requirements for Finance and Accounting.
2. Configure and implement Finance modules in D365 BC, including:

• General Ledger
• Accounts Payable (Vendor)
• Accounts Receivable (Customer)
• Cash & Bank Management
• Fixed Assets
• Taxation (GST, VAT, Sales Tax, Withholding, etc.), localisations not limited to India, USA, UAE, Europe
• Budgeting and Cost Accounting
• Intercompany Accounting and Consolidation
  
• Subscription Billing / Revenue Recognition (if applicable)

1. Perform chart of accounts design, dimension structures, and posting profiles.
2. Set up and manage multi-currency, multi-entity, and consolidation processes.

Project Delivery

1. Participate in requirement gathering workshops, Fit-Gap analysis, solution design, and preparation of Functional Requirement Documents (FRD).
2. Guide technical consultants during solution design, customization, and integrations.
3. Prepare and review test cases, execute functional testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
4. Support cutover activities, data migration validation, and go-live readiness.
5. Deliver end-user training and create user manuals/documentation.
6. Provide post-go-live support and continuous process improvement recommendations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

1. Work closely with Project management / Delivery consultants to ensure seamless end-to-end solution delivery.
2. Collaborate with technical/development teams on reports, workflows, and integrations.
3. Coordinate with project managers, delivery managers, and practice heads to ensure timely delivery and quality outputs.

Presales & Consulting

1. Support presales activities demos, RFP responses, solution presentations, and proposal reviews.
2. Provide industry best practice recommendations and suggest standard D365 BC functionalities over customization wherever possible.

Governance & Reporting

1. Track and report on assigned tasks, risks, and issues during the project lifecycle.

2. Ensure compliance with internal project governance, documentation standards, and methodologies.
3. Contribute to knowledge sharing sessions within the practice and mentor junior consultants.

Required Skills & Competencies

• 710 years of functional consulting experience on Microsoft Dynamics NAV and D365 Business Central (Finance stream).
• Strong knowledge of end-to-end Finance processes and industry best practices.
• Hands-on experience with multi-entity, multi-currency, and global finance implementations.
• Deep understanding of local statutory requirements (India, UAE, Europe, USA, Canada preferred).
• Strong knowledge of finance reporting, financial statements, and Power BI integration.
• Experience in data migration, master data setup, and financial reconciliations.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Associate.
• Experience working with ISVs and integrations (e.g., payroll, taxation, CRM, banking).
• Exposure to Agile/Hybrid project methodologies.
• Experience in pre-sales, demos, and proposal writing is a plus.
