Associate - Finance & Assurance

Role Overview
We are looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant with a Big 4 audit and assurance background to join our finance team in Chennai. This role is ideal for a fresher CA who brings strong technical grounding in audit methodology, financial reporting standards, and risk-based thinking and is ready to apply that expertise in a dynamic in-house environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support internal and statutory audit cycles, coordinating with external auditors and relevant business units
Prepare, review, and finalize financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards (Ind AS / IFRS / US GAAP)
Assist in designing and testing internal controls; identify gaps and recommend remediation measures
Conduct risk assessments and support implementation of audit findings and management action plans
Support month-end and year-end close activities including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis
Maintain comprehensive audit documentation and ensure readiness for regulatory inspections
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations teams to gather and validate financial data
Assist in managing statutory compliances including GST, TDS, and other direct/indirect tax obligations

Required Skills & Qualifications
Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI) - fresher or up to 1 year of post qualification experience
Articleship completed at a Big 4 firm with primary exposure to audit and assurance engagements
Strong working knowledge of Ind AS, IFRS, and US GAAP reporting standards, and Companies Act 2013
Requirements
Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data modelling) and MS Office suite
Solid understanding of internal controls, audit risk frameworks, and financial close processes
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet strict deadlines
Clear written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder-facing documentation and reporting
Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) during articleship or academic projects
Familiarity with data analytics tools or audit software (IDEA, ACL, Power BI) is a plus
Prior involvement in listed company or SaaS / software / technology sector audits preferred
Understanding of transfer pricing, tax audits, or management reporting is an advantage
