Data Scientist/Big Data Analyst
As a member of the project team, the Data Scientist will help shape how we use data to build models and generate actionable insights. The solution will give our customers a risk aware supply chain which will advance outcomes for the business. The project is focused on the identification, capture, analysis, and transformation of industry data sources to be utilized in discovering and building out a customer’s sub-tier supplier network.
Preferred Knowledge & Background -

• Proficiency in Python is required.
• Familiarity with data transformation and modeling techniques such as Clustering, NLP, and Entity Resolution.
• Knowledge of statistical learning methods
• Knowledge of manufacturing, geolocation and/or customs import/export data sources.
• Knowledge of SPARK or location information experience.
• Experience in deriving and processing addresses, geocoordinates, geofencing, timestamps, shipments, or human mobility.

Expected Tasks -
While working as a Data Scientist/Big Data Analyst on the project team you will use your skills in:

• Data Exploration – discovery of industry data sources to support building out industry-specific knowledge graph.
• Data Wrangling – data quality assessment and transformation using NLP techniques, geo-coding, etc.
• Exploratory Data Analysis - conducting exploratory analysis to extract insights and find out important groups, trends, and relationships in data and in the knowledge graph.
• Documentation – report progress and communicate questions via JIRA / confluence.
• Analyzing and Reporting – evaluating discovery results and summarizing conclusions to stakeholders.
  

Data scientists will get exposure to a wide range of datasets including shipping, supplier, news, and incident data. They will work with the team to build models and pipelines to solve industry problems that will be deployed in a production software environment. They will become familiar with graph database technology and how to query the graph to find relationships of interest to customers.
