The mortgages team is at the forefront of change to digitise customer journeys, helping consumers fulfil their dreams more quickly and easily than ever. You will be working with lenders, fintechs and digital marketplaces to create industry disrupting solutions in one of the biggest financial services markets.
The Data Analyst will have strong numerical skills, being able to look at large volumes of data and complex logical and mathematical requirements from clients, interpret these and implement the changes in our own solution. They will be responsible for delivery within the Marketplace Mortgages team, and will manage the team’s analyst resource, as well as feeding into design choices for new deliveries and ensuring work is carried out according to business standards. They will work closely with the Tech Team lead, Product Owner and Product Manager, as well as the Go To Market Team to support on defining the pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret complex logical requirements from lenders to implement their credit policies on Experian’s eligibility solutions, build models predicting scoring outcomes and define test packs to ensure solutions are working as expected
Monitor solution performance and produce reporting on this for internal and external stakeholders
Carries out changes in SQL based solutions and can oversee and review technical changes, as well as signing off changes which have been carried out according to Experian Marketplace risk and security policies
Work with the Product Owner and Tech Lead to manage the balance of work in the team between product development and client delivery
Work directly with lenders, price comparison websites and brokerages to gain insight on how they work, and where Experian can provide value
Line manage a small team of other analysts and guide them in:
Maintaining existing solutions and delivering solutions for new clients
Supporting clients through the provision of MI and ad hoc analysis
Working according to all regulatory requirements as well as existing change processes and security standards
Developing and implementing talent management and succession plans to identify and develop high potential employees
Advocate for a culture that achieves business goals, delights customers and acts in a manner conducive to the fair and reasonable treatment of all consumers, irrespective of whether these are Experian UK clients and consumers or not
Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of documentation for operational processes
Collaborate with the Product Team and Agile Lead to work according to Agile methodologies
Qualifications
Qualifications
- A degree in a STEM subject with strong numerical skills
- A background in analytics – 2+ years working as a Data Analyst

- Working collaboratively, leads by example and inspires trust of others
- Coordinating with stakeholders, sales teams and leadership teams around feasible achievements and upcoming opportunities
- Directing junior analysts and working closely with software developers
Required Technical Skills/Knowledge
- 2+ years of working on SQL based databases
- Ability to run complex analysis, pulling data from multiple different tables, joining and manipulating it to extract insights
- Experience inserting, deleting and updating data within SQL databases
- Experience using Excel for data manipulation and presentation
Beneficial Skills/Knowledge
- Experience working with stored procedures within SQL Databases
- Experience in the credit industry
- A degree in a STEM subject
- Experience with agile ways of working
