Job Description

What role will you play in the team?

As a Canada International Tax Accountant, you will be a key member of our international tax team, focusing on Canadian tax issues related to cross-border transactions and foreign investments. You will assist clients with complex tax planning and compliance matters, helping them navigate the complexities of international tax laws. Your expertise will contribute to our firm's reputation for excellence.

What you will do

You will focus on Canadian international tax matters, including cross-border transactions and foreign investments. This involves researching tax laws, analyzing client structures, and developing strategies to minimize tax liabilities. You'll also assist with tax audits and represent clients before tax authorities.

Key responsibility
  • Provide expert advice and support to clients on Canadian international tax matters.
  • Research and interpret Canadian international tax laws and regulations.
  • Analyze client structures and transactions to identify potential tax liabilities and opportunities.
  • Develop strategies to minimize client international tax liabilities.
  • Assist with tax audits conducted by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and address tax-related inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all tax-related documents.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in Canadian international tax laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other team members to provide comprehensive tax services.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant ethical and professional standards.
Required Qualification and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience with Canadian international tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with tax research tools and databases.
  • Professional certification such as CPA or CMI (preferred).
  • Experience with international tax software (preferred).
