What role will you play in the team?

As an Indirect Tax Analyst at EY, you will focus on assisting clients with indirect tax matters, including sales and use tax, value-added tax (VAT), and goods and services tax (GST). You will work closely with senior tax professionals to ensure accurate and timely compliance with indirect tax laws.

What you will do

You'll prepare and review indirect tax returns, conduct tax research on indirect tax issues, and assist with tax audits and controversies. You will also advise clients on indirect tax planning opportunities. Your expertise will help clients navigate the complexities of indirect taxation.

Key Responsibility

  • Prepare and review indirect tax returns, including sales and use tax, VAT, and GST returns.
  • Conduct tax research on indirect tax issues, including state and federal tax laws.
  • Assist with tax audits and controversies involving indirect taxes.
  • Advise clients on indirect tax planning opportunities to minimize their tax liabilities.
  • Monitor changes in indirect tax laws and regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate indirect tax risks for clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Prepare and review indirect tax filings and disclosures.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in indirect tax.

Required Qualification and Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 0-1 year of experience in indirect tax or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of indirect tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience with preparing and reviewing indirect tax returns.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent certification is preferred.
