What role will you play in the team?
As a Tax Reporting Associate at EY, you'll be an important part of our team. You'll help prepare and review tax returns, conduct tax research, and assist with tax planning. You will be involved in various aspects of tax reporting. Your contributions will ensure the accuracy and compliance of our client’s tax obligations.
What you will do
Your main duties will involve preparing and reviewing tax returns, analyzing financial data, and conducting tax research. You will also work closely with senior team members to develop tax strategies and solutions for clients. You will use your skills to maintain detailed records and adhere to all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Analyze financial data, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct tax research and stay updated on changes to tax laws and regulations.
- Assist in tax planning for clients, identifying opportunities to minimize tax liabilities.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and answer tax-related questions.
- Maintain accurate records of all tax-related activities.
- Assist with tax audits, preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Collaborate with senior team members on complex tax projects.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Contribute to the development of tax strategies and solutions for clients.
Required Qualification and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 0-1 year of experience in tax preparation or accounting.
- Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software, such as ProSystem fx or GoSystem Tax RS.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of partnership, S corporation, and individual taxation.
- Experience with tax research tools and databases, such as LexisNexis or Checkpoint.
