About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join Qualcomms dynamic Generative AI team, focused on integrating cutting-edge Generative AI models on Qualcomm chipsets. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and optimizing Qualcomm AI Runtime (QAIRT) SDK on Qualcomm System on Chips (SoCs). Your expertise will help push the boundaries of AI inference performance, enabling on-device deployment of large language models (LLMs), vision models (LVMs), and other neural network architectures at near-GPU speeds while maintaining low power consumption. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hardware, systems, and test engineers to design, implement, and validate high-performance software solutions that meet the evolving needs of AI applications at the edge. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of hardware and software innovation, contributing to the future of AI-enabled devices and solutions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in software development. A strong background in generative AI models such as LLMs, LVMs, and foundational building blocks like self-attention, cross-attention, and kv caching is essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python is required, along with a solid understanding of floating-point, fixed-point representations, and quantization techniques. Experience in optimizing AI algorithms for hardware accelerators such as CPU, GPU, or NPU, and familiarity with frameworks like PyTorch, TFLite, and ONNX Runtime is highly desirable. Candidates should also demonstrate excellent analytical, debugging, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse, global teams.
