About the opportunity


Department Description



Financial Control function in India is responsible for controllership and reporting activities of UK, CE and Indian entities. It also includes Group finance activities performed for FIL as a whole. Key responsibilities of the teams are



  • accounting & control,

  • Institutional Invoicing

  • Group/legal entity year-end and audit

  • direct & indirect taxation,

  • treasury & regulatory compliances,

  • MIS reporting’s and supporting the extended teams in different regions.


Purpose of the Role



This role is an excellent opportunity to gain a broad understanding of financial controllership and its role in FIL’s Financial Services business. The role will be primarily around managing and owning the end-to-end Bonus accrual process including FI shares which is a Centre of Excellence in India Finance. The successful applicant will be exposed to sensitive data and will be required to maintain confidentiality



Key Responsibilities



The roles and responsibilities will be as follows:



  • Responsibility of end-to-end Bonus accrual process (COE in India Finance) including FI shares shares/PSP units

  • MI Reporting - Monthly analysis of movement in bonus costs

  • Audit for all entities across geographies for Bonus charge & accruals - Group and local audits

  • Annual cycles for bonus payout including FI shares/PSP units

  • Lead project implementation related to Bonus systems/processes

  • Interaction with senior stakeholders including HR, Controllers, Business Finance teams

  • Oversee, guide and support team members in handling day to day tasks.

  • Drive initiatives and training needs.

Experience and Qualifications Required



  • Qualified Accountant with 5-6 years post qualification experience in Finance.

  • Strong analytical skills including knowledge of accounting principles.

  • Shows attention to detail and an appetite to dive into issues in depth as needed.

  • Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office software packages; Proficient with Microsoft Excel.

  • Knowledge of CFP, Essbase and JDE would be an advantage.

  • Collaborative approach to develop, share, accept and implementation of ideas

  • Identify opportunities & implement solutions to improve process

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;

  • Ability to deliver adhoc requests rapidly;

  • Represent bonus process at local and group level audit;

  • Ability to challenge conventional ideas/ status quo.
