Introduction
Known as the 'knowledge behind the numbers', Financial Analysts are considered to be trusted business advisors, working within IBM’s business units and geographies, as well as in a myriad of specialized corporate functions. IBM's finance organization is instrumental in driving innovative improvements to global financial processes while providing measurable value to the business.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Plan and control of Revenue/Cost or Contracts;
- Validate new Signings and certified Backlog;
- Support business leadership team with analyses of Revenue/Cost/Expense and profit outlook;
- Prepare reports for management and business units pointing out performance gaps vs budget/forecast;
- Build up roadmaps to achieve the target;
- Support accounting closing by providing regular update on pending entries;
- Act as trusted business advisor by delivering clear messages & alternatives for business decision, demonstrating ownership and business knowledge;
- Reporting contracts daily assessment (closing)
- Provides variance analysis on both revenue and cost on a monthly basis to the PMO team and help them to understand the numbers.
- Assist the team with forecasting
- raises monthly invoice charges
- Supports cost review for the whole account
- Supports backlog validation and quarterly BL certification
- SOX and audit review support
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Contract Management/Project Administration
- Has the knowledge and understanding of Q2C processes.
- Has the knowledge of systems used to support Q2C processes along with hands on experience in financial and accounting domain
- Has data processing skills including use of excel spreadsheets, reports and databases.
- Has excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective networks.
- Has strong presentation and training skills to enhance knowledge transfer.
- Successfully negotiates with internal customers.
- Team player, able to work on own initiative
- Assertive, adaptable and creative
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Proven soft skills and analytical skills.
- Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with creative approach to work
- Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time management
- Understanding of tools like Mural, Slack and Trello
- Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

As of 2022, IBM holds an impressive portfolio of 150,000 patents.
