Role: Consultant/Senior Consultant - Finance and Accounts

Location: Chennai

Experience Required: Minimum 5 Years

Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in commerce (B.Com / M.Com) or MBA Finance or Semi qualified (CA).

Preferred joining: Immediate or within 15 days

Key Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for accurately recording customer invoices in the accounting system, ensuring that all billing information is complete, correct, and aligned with contractual terms and company policies.
   
2. Coordinated with internal teams to validate supporting documentation and resolve discrepancies prior to invoice release.
3. Monitored day-to-day Accounts Receivable (AR) activities, including processing of AR transactions and application of customer payments received via Lockbox and Wire transfers.
4. Performed spot audits of AR transactions and cash applications to verify accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and internal controls.
5. Proactively tracked unapplied and unidentified payments, ensuring timely resolution by coordinating with Collections teams, in-country Finance teams, and Banking partners.
6. Generated, reviewed, and analyzed daily, weekly, and monthly reports covering AR and cash application activities.
7. Prepared detailed customer account reconciliations to validate balances, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accuracy of receivable records.
8. Record journal entries, vendor invoices, receipts, payments, and adjustments.
9. Manage accounts payable and receivable, including reconciliations.
10. Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing of books.

    Liaise with auditors for statutory and internal audits.
12. Monitor cash flow and bank balances; prepare daily fund position.
13. Handle bank reconciliations and coordinate with banks for related activities.

Candidate Requirements:

1. Bachelors or Masters Degree in Commerce (B.Com / M.Com) or MBA in Finance or Semi qualified (CA)

2. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting functions.

3. Proficient in accounting software and related financial systems.

4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

5. Willingness and flexibility to work night shifts as required
