Role Overview:
As a Manager - Network Planning for Quick Commerce, you will be at the forefront of designing, optimizing, and scaling the critical infrastructure that underpins our rapid delivery services. This role involves deep dives into operational data, strategic planning for dark stores, micro-fulfillment centers, and last-mile delivery hubs, and ensuring seamless integration with our broader supply chain. You will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams including Operations, Technology, Business Development, and Category Management, translating strategic objectives into tangible network solutions. Your contributions will directly enhance delivery speed, reduce operational costs, and significantly elevate the customer experience in the fast-evolving quick commerce segment, driving Flipkart's competitive edge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze complex operational data, market trends, and customer demand patterns to identify strategic locations for dark stores, fulfillment centers, and delivery nodes, supporting rapid expansion.
- Collaborate closely with Real-time Operations teams to monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement agile solutions to maintain service levels and delivery promises.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives with Technology, Product, and Business teams to integrate network planning with system capabilities and new business requirements.
- Forecast demand and capacity needs for the Quick Commerce network, developing robust contingency plans and scaling strategies to accommodate growth and seasonal peaks.
- Drive continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing network resilience, reducing transit times, and optimizing cost-to-serve across the quick commerce ecosystem.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for network health and efficiency, regularly reporting on progress and recommending strategic adjustments to senior leadership.
- Evaluate and implement innovative logistics technologies and operational models to improve speed, reliability, and sustainability of the quick commerce network.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in supply chain network design, optimization, and strategic planning, with a strong emphasis on quick commerce or last-mile delivery models.
- Proven ability to analyze large datasets, derive actionable insights, and make data-driven decisions to solve complex operational challenges.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of influencing cross-functional teams and presenting complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong understanding of real-time operations management principles and experience in adapting network strategies to dynamic market conditions.
- A minimum of 6-8 years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, or network planning roles, preferably within e-commerce, retail, or quick commerce sectors.
- Proficiency in using network design tools, simulation software, and advanced analytical techniques.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field from a reputed institution.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced, high-growth environment, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.
