Job Description
- As a junior backend developer, you will collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to develop scalable APIs, integrate third-party services, and contribute to backend systems supporting real-world applications. You will be part of Flyde, a product engineering studio focused on creating modern web, mobile, and SaaS platforms for fast-growing startups and visionary enterprises. We value individuals who exhibit curiosity, reliability, and a strong desire to learn quickly.
Your responsibilities will include assisting in the construction and maintenance of APIs using Node.js and Express.js, working with MongoDB or PostgreSQL databases for efficient data storage and management, writing clean and maintainable code following best practices, testing and debugging backend logic while addressing data edge cases, collaborating with frontend developers and designers to deliver end-to-end features, and embracing the opportunity to learn new technologies and contribute to internal tooling and documentation.
To qualify for this role, you should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in backend development, a solid understanding of JavaScript (ES6+), a basic knowledge of Node.js and Express.js, familiarity with at least one database system (MongoDB or PostgreSQL preferred), exposure to REST API concepts and JSON, proficiency in using Git and GitHub, and a willingness to learn, accept feedback, and thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
