Job Description

You will be joining Gallagher & Mohan, a company that specializes in the real estate industry, providing financial analysis, marketing, and accounting support to clients such as private equity investors, developers, fund managers, and brokers. Your role as a Property Accounting Manager will involve overseeing the financial operations of property management and real estate portfolios. This position requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, property management, and real estate finance. Collaboration with the Controller, property managers, and asset managers is crucial to ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Your key responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing financial statements for real estate portfolios on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. You will be tasked with ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of monthly journal entries, conducting financial analysis, and offering strategic recommendations to management. Compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies, as well as coordination with property managers and asset managers on financial matters, will be essential aspects of your role. Additionally, you will assist in budget preparation, cash flow monitoring, bank statement reconciliation, and external audit facilitation.
To excel in this role, you must hold a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with at least 5 years of experience in property accounting or real estate finance, including leadership experience. A strong grasp of GAAP and real estate accounting principles is necessary, as well as proficiency in Yardi and Microsoft Excel. Your analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment will be key to success. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are also essential, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

As the Property Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial performance metrics, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Your contributions will support timely and accurate reporting, rent collection, tenant billing, and preparation of financial calculations for property owners and stakeholders. Special projects, ad-hoc reporting, and compliance with property tax regulations will also be part of your responsibilities.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in a remote work environment, operating in the EST/PST (US Time Zone).
