Job Description

Summary
The Operational Controller provides operational controllership leadership and guidance to both finance and operations leaders for GEHC India. He/she will also be responsible for leading the monitoring/Internal Audit function & will provide independent and objective assurance services by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the sufficiency and effectiveness of risk Management, Financial and Operational controls, and governance. The role involves providing strategic Operational controllership leadership for large/complex region in a joint venture.GE HealthCare is a leading global medical technology and digital solutions innovator. Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of financial, operational, and compliance audits & provide analysis of audit results, develop corrective actions in coordination with the business system owners, prepare audit reports, follow up on corrective action plans, and perform closeout activities
  • Ensure appropriate Internal Controls in place, in line with local statutory laws and GAPs, GEHC GAP, US GAAP, and critically examine potential issues where financial risks & opportunities may be drawn out.
  • Ensure Controllership & Compliance of all Finance Activities & Documentation within Local Statutory, GEHC Corporate & Business practices, policies & requirements, and that such records are maintained in timely, accurate and complete fashion
  • Providing representations to management on monitoring / internal audit activities
  • Ensure that the balance sheet account reconciliations are completed within corporate guidelines
  • Monitor & Drive GEHC corporate initiatives, simplification projects and integration projects.
  • Updation & creation of RACM (Risk and Control Matrix) under IFC as required under IGAAP
  • Support for SOX – creation of RACM and coordinate with global teams to ensure closure of testing
  • Collaborate with Finance staff, Group Compliance focal points, GEHC Corporate Audit Staff to develop risk based audit plans
  • Drive functional integrity and consistency through all Business Processes and systems, including appropriate controls and effective operations via compliance with local statutory laws and local GAPs, GEHC GAP, US GAAP
  • Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for operational processes impacting the financial statements, including closing, reporting and analysis.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance framework for different modalities and apply compliance knowledge to offer solutions to the business
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments / changes in law and updating & implementing these changes by collaborating with various stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Collaborate with Company Secretary to comply with the provisions of Companies Act, 2013 and other applicable corporate laws and maintenance of statutory books and records for all GEHC South Asia entities
  • Foreign Exchange related Compliances viz. filing of Annual Returns / Annual Performance Reports / IDPMS ( Import Data Processing and Monitoring System ) / EDPMS ( Export Data Processing and Monitoring System) u7 etc. across GEHC South Asia entities
  • Provide guidance to business teams on all aspects related to foreign exchange regulations to ensure compliant business processes / model
  • Liaise and build relationship with the Authorized Banks, Reserve Bank of India, Central Banks of Neighboring Countries and other various statutory authorities/bodies
  • Periodic circulation of Compliance Dashboard covering FEMA, Companies Act., direct & indirect taxes and Payroll related laws across GEHC South Asia entities
  • Supporting Regional Controller in publishing MIS compliance reports to the management. Monitoring the status of compliances and reporting the risk to the leadership team
  • Ensure process fixes to gaps identified during compliance reviews / audits working across functional stakeholders
  • Highlighting critical business risks along with quantification of impact to the regional controller and supporting in decision making to ensure compliance
  • Provide insights and feedback to Regional Controller from day to day operation experience
Required Qualifications
  • CA/CMA with 8+ years progressive experience in internal audit with accounting or finance experience;
  • Familiarity with India/ US GAAP, SOX or IAS
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment skills
  • Good understanding of Companies Act, stat financials & familiarity with tax compliances
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner
  • Strong analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change
  • Experience leading in a global business environment; preferably in technical accounting areas

  • Clear thinking/problem solving: successfully led projects/process improvements within operations/finance functions; able to quickly grasp new ideas
