Job Summary:
The Associate Vice President Quality will play a pivotal leadership role in driving and strengthening the Quality function across the organization. This role is responsible for providing strategic direction to mid and junior management teams, ensuring that quality delivery consistently meets both internal and external stakeholder expectations.
The incumbent must possess a strong understanding of the medical coding business, demonstrate sound judgment, prioritize effectively, and ensure continuous coaching and development of teams to achieve high-quality outcomes.
Key Goals:
- Maintain a robust quality assurance program for onshore and offshore coding teams across multiple specialties, ensuring adherence to timelines and service-level agreements.
- Develop and sustain risk identification processes and partner closely with Training and Operations teams to ensure quality scores exceed client and service requirements.

Quality Function:
- Lead, supervise, and manage a team of 500+ Quality Auditors (QAs).
- Foster an inspiring team environment with open communication and collaboration.
- Design and implement QA capacity planning aligned with project and business requirements.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively and set clear deadlines.
- Oversee quality management for OP (ED/EM/SDS/ANC/OBV), ProFee Surgery & EM, and IP DRG projects.
- Ensure quality control in line with client SLAs.
- Drive effective implementation and adherence to the organizations Quality Management System (QMS).
- Monitor team performance and track key quality metrics.
- Conduct random audits of auditors to ensure audit accuracy and consistency.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on audit observations; identify knowledge gaps and develop corrective action plans in collaboration with Quality Leads and Operations Managers.
- Identify training needs and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to QA teams.
- Address team feedback proactively and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Recognize high performers and reward achievements.
- Encourage innovation, continuous improvement, and business enhancement ideas.
- Initiate and organize team-building activities.
- Identify improvement opportunities and implement structured action plans.
Client Communication & Stakeholder Management:
- Support preparation and presentation of client reports related to quality scores and improvement action plans.
- Partner with business units to build a comprehensive support structure for clients and coding teams.
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation related to medical coding, billing, and quality assurance.
- Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the Quality Assurance Program.
