The Opportunity
We are looking for a highly motivated Accounts Payable and Accounting Officer to join our dynamic Finance Team. This hybrid role offers a unique blend of responsibilities across Accounts Payable and general accounting, providing exposure to multi-divisional international operations. You will play a key part in supporting Northern Hemisphere financial operations, contributing to both payment processing and broader accounting efforts post-initial training.
The Specifics
Accounts payable function

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensure proper coding and approval of bills and employee expenses.
• Process payments efficiently and timely.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Ensure proper accruals are accounted for vendor invoices not yet received.
  
• Reconcile the accounts payable sub-ledger with the general ledger and perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Maintain organized accounts payable files and records ensuring proper documentation is stored for future reference.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes.
• Support the Accounts Payable function in the Southern Hemisphere as needed.
  

Accounting function

• Assist with updating and maintaining cash flow spreadsheets, forecasting upcoming payments.
• Assist in automating and optimising workflows for greater efficiency.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities and support the finance team in other ad-hoc tasks.
  

Overall

• ensure compliance with company policy and tax & other regulatory compliances
• Assist with internal and external audit processes.
• Collaborate with procurement, finance, and operations teams.
  

What were looking for (you dont need to be a guru at all, were looking forward to coaching and collaborating with you)
Experience 5-7 years

• Prior experience in accounts payable and accounting roles, preferably in multi-divisional global businesses.
• Strong interpersonal Skills as a key contact for both internal and external customers.
• Deep analytical skills complemented by commercial acumen.
• Experience using NetSuite (Preferred) or similar ERP system.
• Strong attention to detail.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and be comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities.
• Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience working in a multicurrency environment.
• BA desirable or equivalent professional experience.
