Sr. Technology Engineer - OpenShift Virtualization

Global Software Solutions is hiring for a Sr. Technology Engineer to be deployed with a major bank in the UAE to work from their ODC in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in managing complex OpenShift Virtualization environments and delivering scalable, secure, and automated cloud infrastructure solutions in a banking or high-availability setting.
You will be embedded in the Cloud Platform team and play a pivotal role in implementing orchestration, automation, DevSecOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code solutions while contributing to architectural design, security, and platform governance.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design and manage the Core OpenShift Platform and its virtualization capabilities.
• Implement automation for infrastructure provisioning and scaling using Terraform, Ansible, and GitOps principles.
• Collaborate with platform owners and DevOps teams to define architectural standards.
• Manage lifecycle and performance of platform components including Kubernetes, API Management (RedHat 3Scale), and related tools.
• Ensure high availability and compliance with security/risk policies during critical incidents and deployments.
• 
  Contribute to Agile ceremonies and participate in roadmap planning for platform engineering initiatives.
• Conduct technical training, mentoring, and documentation to raise engineering standards.
• Integrate DevSecOps tools like Sonarqube, Checkmarx, Nexus IQ, Sysdig into CI/CD pipelines.
• Leverage logging/monitoring tools like ELK Stack, Splunk, and build observability into all systems.
  

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a cloud engineering or platform engineering role.
• Expertise in OpenShift / OpenShift Virtualization, Kubernetes, Linux, Terraform, Ansible, and API Gateways.
• Experience with Groovy/Ansible scripting, GitOps practices, and infrastructure automation.
• Strong knowledge of DevOps/DevSecOps tooling and CI/CD integration.
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals, public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Oracle), and container orchestration.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.
• Professional certifications in Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Cloud Platforms.
