Summary

GP Strategies has a strategic IT objective to transform into a “data-driven” organization where use of and facility with Business Intelligence (BI) tools is as common as it is effective. A key service BI team in GP Strategies is to make data in our core system of record (Oracle Cloud Fusion) available through our Enterprise Data Warehouse. Discovering which data sets to extract requires careful research, analysis and validation to ensure data quality for the developers building decision support tools on this key data set.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Analyzes and documents data requirements for BI data extraction.
• Research appropriate BI views to extract and meet reporting needs.
• Tests and validates extracts for accuracy, completeness, and correct granularity.
• Creates the data design documentation for downstream dimensional modeling and date set schema definition.
• Monitors and manages extraction jobs.
• Performs tie-outs for data quality testing of Enterprise Data Warehouse

Required Skills

Design

• Familiarity with dimensional modeling for OLAP reporting designs.
• Understanding of relational database schemas
• Data analysis skills and experience

Technology

• Familiarity with both transactional interfaces and associated table structures in the following areas:
• Oracle ERP functionality
• Finance & Accounting
• Procure to Pay
• Accounts Receivable
• Accounts Payable
• Project Management
• Oracle HCM
• OTL
• Benefits
• Absence Management
• Taleo Recruiting
• PL-SQL

Related Experience

Technical

• 5+ years working within Oracle ERP environments (preferably, Oracle Fusion Cloud)
• 3+ using Oracle reporting technologies (BI Publisher, OTBI etc.)
• 3+ years working with various Oracle ERP modules
• 3+ years working with PL-SQL reporting
• 2+ years working with Excel for data analysis performing tie outs

Other Skills And Experience

• Excellent English oral and written communication skills
• Business analysis and requirements gathering techniques and practices
• Facility in managing stakeholder/SME relationships and building business partnerships
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical people, including those at the highest levels of the organization
• Uses Agile software methodologies for work execution and team collaboration
