Role Description
This is a full-time Safety Officer role, located on-site in Gujarat. The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring workplace safety and compliance with health and safety regulations. Daily tasks include conducting safety inspections, training employees on safety procedures, investigating accidents, and maintaining safety records. Security and occupational health are also key responsibilities of this role.
- Managing the effective implementation of appropriate Health & Safety, Environmental & Social (H&S, E&S) management system procedures and provide for their updating in line with changes in legislation and the customers directive for multisite of Solar PV projects.
- Participates in HSSE related discussions at and Site toolbox talk, Contractor meeting, Client Weekly/Monthly Meetings, Safety Committee Meetings and Staff Meetings.
- Assist, deliver, and organize HSSE training to employee and contractor.
- Coordinate with construction teams and EPC contractor to assist and enhance their HSSE competency and delivery.
- Perform HSSE audit both internal & external and inspect on project construction site and operation site to verify consistency with HSSE procedural, client requirements, regulatory requirements and, contractor HSSE plan.
- Coordinates and assists Site Manager with Incident Investigations to determine Root Cause and recommend appropriate Corrective Actions and Preventive Action.
- Prepare and follow up the HSSE reports and records on weekly/monthly contractor HSSE report, Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions from incident, Grievance mechanism, Environmental compliances and monitoring, Waste management and system performance.
- Trains and carries out drills and exercises on how to manage emergency situations.
- Perform HSSE tasks or other duties as required.

- Experience in the renewable energy sector is a plus
- A Bachelors degree in an environmental science/engineering, Health & Safety Environment Engineer, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent qualifications
- Safety Expert certified by Ministry of Manpower.

- Knowledgeable in HSSE regulations, IFC principles, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and SA 8000 requirements.
- Expert in construction safety management system especially for working at height activity & rescue and electrical safety management.
- Minimum has 2 (two) year experiences working in power generation or project construction as HSE Supervisor / Manager with a preference of solar projects experience.
- Passion for renewable energy and an entrepreneurial mindset are greatly appreciated, preference of solar projects experience.
- Frequent travel will be required for managing multiple projects.
- Good capacity to train and evaluate competency of staff and subcontractors.
- Candidates must be adept at using MS Office (Word, excel and PPT).
- Advanced level of English, both written and spoken
- Flexible and trustworthy.
- Good interpersonal skill, Self-driven and proactive.
- Cross-functional coordination capability.
- Strong planning and organizational skills as well as the ability to lead and promote teamwork.
- Attention to detail and pride in work.
- Be open minded, agile, dynamic, flexible, and open to new challenges
