Position Summary
We are looking for a Prompt Engineer on contract who can design, test, and optimize prompts for Large Language Models (LLMs) to build reliable AI-driven workflows and products. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, creative with language, and capable of structuring instructions that produce consistent, high-quality outputs from modern AI systems such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini.
Candidates from premier institutes like the Indian Institutes of Technology, Indian Institute of Science, or top global universities are strongly preferred.

• Structured thinkers who can convert complex tasks into precise prompts.
• Curiosity about AI behavior and reasoning patterns.
• Ability to rapidly test, iterate, and improve prompts.
• Strong documentation and experimentation mindset.
  

Key Responsibilities

• Design, refine, and optimize prompts and prompt pipelines for LLM-based applications.
• Build structured prompt frameworks (few-shot, chain-of-thought, role prompting, tool prompting).
• Evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, bias, hallucination, and reliability.
  
• Work with engineering teams to integrate prompts into APIs and AI products.
• Develop prompt libraries and reusable templates for various use cases.
• Run experiments to benchmark prompt strategies across different LLMs.
• Create guardrails and evaluation methods for safe and consistent AI responses.
• Collaborate with product, data science, and engineering teams to improve AI performance.
  

Basic Qualifications

• Tech / M.Tech / PhD in Computer Science, AI, Mathematics, Linguistics, or related field.
• Strong preference for candidates from Indian Institutes of Technology or equivalent institutions.
• Strong analytical and logical reasoning ability.
• Excellent written communication and language structuring skills.
• Understanding of LLMs, generative AI, and prompt engineering techniques.
• Experience using AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.

Preferred Qualifications

• Python or JavaScript for AI integration.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.

• Experience working with APIs from OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google.
• Contributions to AI projects, open source, or research.
• Publications or participation in AI competitions.
