Control M Administrator

Role & responsibilities

The Control-M Administrator will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining the organizations batch scheduling environment using BMC Control-M. The role involves supporting job scheduling operations, troubleshooting failures, implementing automation, and ensuring system performance and reliability.

Preferred candidate profile

• Administer and maintain the BMC Control-M environment, including configuration, upgrades, and patch management.
  
• Create, schedule, and monitor batch jobs and workflows across multiple platforms (Windows, UNIX, Linux, AIX, etc.).
  
• Perform troubleshooting and resolution of job failures and scheduling conflicts.
  
  
• Ensure 24x7 operational support for production and non-production job streams.
  
• Implement job automation, alerts, and dependency management to optimize performance.
  
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and support teams to ensure smooth batch operations.
  
• Maintain Control-M policies, calendars, and templates according to operational standards.
  
• Generate and review reports on job success/failure trends and SLA adherence.
  
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, audits, and compliance activities.
  
• Provide user access management and security configuration for Control-M components.
  

• Strong hands-on experience with BMC Control-M (Scheduler, Control-M/Enterprise Manager, Control-M/Server, Control-M/Agent).
  
• Experience in installation, configuration, and upgrade of Control-M components.
  
• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux and Windows environments.
  
• Scripting skills (Shell, PowerShell, Python, or similar) for job automation.
  
• Understanding of ITIL processes (Change, Incident, Problem Management).
  
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
