Job Description
Purpose of the role:
Debt Dealer will be responsible for executing debt deals as instructed by Fund Manager. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is a prerequisite for this role. The successful candidate will exhibit outstanding analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
Key deliverables:
- Execute debt transactions, encompassing bond issuance, trading, and other debt-related activities.
- Monitor and analyze debt market trends, providing valuable insights and recommendations to Fund Manager and CIO.
- Develop and sustain broker relationships, to ensure best execution.
- Create comprehensive financial reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams (Investment Mid office, back office, brokers) to ensure the successful execution of trades.
- Stay informed on regulatory changes and industry developments impacting debt markets.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in debt markets, financial analysis, or a related field.
- Experience in interacting with brokers, negotiating spreads, and ensuring best execution.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Essential Qualification:
MBA/CA
Preferred Certifications:
CFA
Preferred Skillset:
- Strong understanding of fixed-income instruments including G-Secs, SDLs, corporate bonds, money-market instruments, and yield-curve dynamics.
- Familiarity with trading platforms such as NDS-OM, CCIL, and Bloomberg.
- Working knowledge of portfolio risk metrics (duration, convexity, YTM, spread analysis).
- Ability to interpret macroeconomic indicators, RBI policy actions, liquidity trends, and their impact on debt markets.
- Exposure to regulatory frameworks relevant to pension, insurance, or mutual fund debt markets (PFRDA, SEBI, RBI guidelines).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under time-sensitive trading conditions.
- High ethical standards, integrity in execution, and adherence to compliance norms.
