Safety Officer -AM/DM (Hero Realty Pvt Ltd)

This position will be responsible for implementing, and ensuring the company's Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs at project sites. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a safe work environment for workers & laborers, employees and the public, while also minimizing the company's environmental impact.

• Preparing and implementation of Hazard identification and Risk assessment.

Ensure all compliances as per BOCW act are in place.

Role & responsibilities

• Leadership and Strategy:
• Implement a comprehensive EHS management system aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Establish a strong safety culture within the company, promoting a "Zero Harm" vision and proactive risk management.
• Lead the Contractor EHS team, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure effective program execution.
• Stay updated on relevant EHS laws and regulations, ensuring the company remains compliant.
• Integrate EHS considerations into the entire real estate life cycle, from design and construction to property management and demolition.
• Complete ownership of contractor safety management.
• Program Management:

• Update and implement EHS policies, procedures, and training programs for employees, contractors.
• Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections of properties to identify and address potential hazards.
• Conduct Risk Assessment / JSA for all activities.
• Oversee incident investigation and reporting processes, ensuring corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
• Implement and maintain a system for documenting and managing EHS data and performance metrics.
• Assessment and approval on contractor safety plans.
• Develop safety training plan and conduct training for all level of employees.
• Implementation of electrical safety, permit to work system, LOTO, Audits, Site inspection, Machineries inspection and emergency response plan.
• Encourage knowledge sharing promotional activities and organize various events in order to cultivate safety culture,
• Communication and Collaboration:
• Effectively communicate EHS policies, procedures, and best practices to all stakeholders.
• Conducting/Participating in Safety committee meetings, Project review meetings and coordination with construction manager on safety related concern.
• Collaborate with other departments (e.g., construction, property management, facilities) to ensure EHS considerations are incorporated into their work.
• Maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders.
• Additional Responsibilities:
• Provide data related to sustainability initiatives such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, and resource conservation.
• Stay abreast of emerging EHS trends and technologies, implementing improvements where applicable.

Preferred candidate profile

Required Education :

B. Sc./ B. Tech. (Civil/ Mechanical/ Environment) + Advance Diploma in industrial safety (ADIS) or Post Diploma in Industrial Safety (PDIS) from state technical board is mandatory.

Preferred Education :

• Advance Diploma in industrial safety (ADIS) from state technical board is mandatory.
• NEBOSH certification will be added advantage.
• Internal or Lead Auditor Certification in ISO 14001/ 45001

Preference -

• Someone with British safely council and Du-pont safety exposure.
• Real Estate or Construction sectors.
